Shareholder Paul Ney Appointed to LaunchTN Board of Directors

Speaker Beth Harwell (R-Nashville) today announced the appointment of Paul Ney to the LaunchTN Board of Directors. Ney is a partner in the Nashville law firm of Patterson Intellectual Property Law, P.C.

“LaunchTN is a critical component of our ongoing efforts to recruit businesses and inspire entrepreneurs,” said Speaker Harwell. “Paul understands the importance of promoting and encouraging industry to strengthen our economy and help us compete globally. I appreciate his willingness to serve on the Board of Directors.”

Ney is a registered patent attorney and has vast experience in law and public service that includes serving as Director of the Nashville Davidson County Mayor’s Office of Economic and Community Development, Deputy General Counsel (Legal Counsel) for the U.S. Department of Defense, Acting General Counsel and Principal Deputy General Counsel of the Department of the Navy,  and a partner in the law firm of  Trauger, Ney & Tuke. Mr. Ney earned his law degree and M.B.A. at Vanderbilt University and his undergraduate degree at Cornell University.

Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN) is a public-private partnership focused on supporting the development of high-growth companies in the state of Tennessee with the ultimate goal of fostering job creation and economic growth and is an initiative of the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation. LaunchTN focuses on four key areas: entrepreneurship, commercialization, capital and outreach. LaunchTN is in part funded by a grant from the State of Tennessee.
