Passing of Patterson Attorney John Triggs
6.10.22
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague John Triggs. John died in a mountain biking accident near his home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He was 76. John’s family is planning a memorial service June 26th in Steamboat Springs.
John joined Patterson Intellectual Property Law, P.C. in 2007 from Greenberg Traurig, LLP in New York and promptly made his contribution to Nashville’s growth. He served as the Nashville Sounds’ General Counsel and was instrumental in negotiating the Sounds’ new ballpark in Germantown.
John was a notable litigation strategist and compelling trial lawyer. He represented clients all over the world, forming life-long relationships and making a lasting impact on intellectual property law. He was a wonderful law partner and an esteemed mentor and teacher to many lawyers. John also was a remarkable athlete – passionate about skiing and mountain biking – and a captivating storyteller. Our firm mourns his loss, and we will miss his presence around the office.
