Firm Welcomes John D. Bowers as new Chief Operating Officer

Patterson Intellectual Property Law has added John D. Bowers as Chief Operating Officer.  Bowers will take the place of longtime COO Jim Roberts, who is retiring.

“John has a wealth of experience in strategic leadership and business development at law firms,” said Ed Lanquist, Managing Shareholder. “John comes to us from several large national and regional firms. We look to leverage John’s experience as editor in chief of ABA’s Law Practice Management magazine, as a business development professional, and with other firm experiences.”

Most recently, Bowers was assistant director of business development at Fox Rothschild LLP in Princeton, New Jersey where he oversaw marketing and business development projects for more than 150 attorneys.  Bowers spent most of his professional career in Philadelphia, where he worked with firms Saul Ewing LLP, Duane Morris LLP and Schnader Harrision Segal & Lewis LLP.

Bowers is a 1999 graduate of Messiah College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in International Business.  He studied with the International Business Institute, through which he traveled in 12 European countries and Russia over 12 weeks learning about global marketing, comparative economics and international trade & finance.

A member of the American Bar Association for the past ten years, Bowers is board chair and Editor-in-Chief of Law Practice magazine and is an associate member of the Division Council.  He is a member of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and Association of Legal Administrators (ALA).

A native of Maine, Bowers has recently relocated to Williamson County.
